Tailor-made football tours in Japan

The popularity of football increased markedly after the Japanese national team did well at the 1964 Olympics. Suddenly schools began setting up football teams and youth leagues sprouted up everywhere. When professional football made its debut in 1993, the sport really took off with it becoming the favourite sport among middle school students. A further boost came when Japan won the rights to co-host the 2002 Football World Cup and in 2010 Japan succeeded in reaching the final 16 at the FIFA World Cup. The Japan football season coincides with the UK’s with teams able to tour until late in the season.
