Tailor-made basketball tours in Cyprus

Basketball in Cyprus is an ever expanding sport where In terms of popularity and spectator following, basketball only comes second to football.

Cyprus has excellent facilities for basketball training and local clubs in Larnaca, Nicosia and Limassol are all very welcoming of friendly matches. Cyprus has men’s championships, an U-20 league, women’s championship, U-16 boys and girl’s championship.

Until the early 1980s basketball was played on open courts with tarmac floor and wooden backboard, it wasn’t until the end of the decade the Cyprus Sports Authority invested in several modern indoor arenas and stadium were erected in most major cites with many venues meeting international standards where European competitions are regularly held.

Cyprus was also host to the European Basketball Championships warm ups and preparations ahead of the 37th games in Lithuania in September 2011.

Day 1 - DEPARTURE DAY

Meet at London Gatwick airport for your flight to Cyprus. On arrival transfer to your hotel for the following seven nights. Spend the rest of the day exploring your new surroundings.

Day 2 – LIMASSOL

A full day at leisure, so why not head west out of the city to Kourion, an important ancient city kingdom and a spectacular archaeological site. Visit the museum exhibiting collections of finds from nearby archaeological sites and the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates who was protector of Kourion.

Day 3 – LIMASSOL

Match Day 1

Perhaps enjoy a morning excursion to the castle near the Old Port. Alternatively, go to the donkey sanctuary and ride the donkeys.

A day to relax and enjoy the world class beaches

You have some free time this morning to maybe visit the Folk Art Museum housing the beautiful collection of Cypriot Folk Art of the 19th and early 20th century.

Day 6 – LIMASSOL
